Britney Spears, Taryn Manning, and Zoe Saldaña in Crossroads: Amigas para siempre (2002)

Crossroads: Amigas para siempre

  • A cheesy little movie!

Crossroads is a cheesy little movie which isn't that bad. Some of the scenes were just a little unbelievable though and did remind me of a few other movies, Coyote Ugly (Which is a better movie.) for example. The story-line here starts of with three young girls, Lucy, Mimi and Kit who are best friends, but as they grow up they drift apart. After there high school graduation though they basically reunite and go on a road trip along with 'bad boy' Ben to make there dreams come true. The performances here from the likes of Britney Spears and Taryn Manning are not exactly brilliant, but they are not terrible either and Anson Mount is shaping up to be a good actor. He's pretty cute too. All in all, nothing special here, but good enough.

  • A Great Teen Thriller!

The In Crowd is a great teen thriller. The movie is about Adrien, a strange girl who gets a job at a posh country club, when she meets Brittany, a pretty, rich, popular girl who is the leader of 'The In Crowd.' Brittany invites Adrien to hang out with her and her friends and everything is going well at first until things go bad and Brittany turns nasty. I thought most of the cast played there parts well and even though as the movie went on you tend to know what is going to happen, the movie is still enjoyable to watch. This is definitely recommended for people who enjoy teen thrillers as this is a really good one.

  • Average Teen Movie!

Boys and Girls is an average teen comedy about friends and dating. Freddie Prinze Jr, Jason Biggs and Claire Forlani all star here and they all give decent performances. The movie is really predictable though and it's really obvious who's going to end up with who by the end of the movie. This is a nice enough movie though which I'm sure will go down well with most teen-movie lovers.

  • Ali G: The Movie is GREAT!

If you're a fan of Ali G (Like myself.) then you will definitely love this movie as just like the Ali G shows, this first Ali G movie (I'm sure there will be many more to come.) is great. It's rude, crude and really funny. In the movie Ali G becomes Prime Minister to help save his town, Staines with strange and funny things happening along the way. We even get to find out some new things about Ali G. (Eg: His real name is Alistair Lesley Graham and we see what his hair really looks like.) There are not that many British comedies that I really enjoy, so it's good to have one like this. Sacha Baron Cohen is absolutely brilliant. Fan or no fan see this movie. You're a guaranteed many laughs along the way.

  • Great Sci-Fi!

Hollow Man is about a group of scientists who discover a way to become invisible. When one of the scientists, Sebastian Caine tries it out, he suddenly becomes really evil and realises he can do whatever he wants when being invisible. His co-workers have to find a way to stop his though, before it's to late. Kevin Bacon gives a good performance in the movie. I think he's a really underrated actor. The supporting cast, including Greg Grunberg and Elisabeth Shue give good performances too. The movie is a great, enjoyable sci-fi/thriller which has great effects and good music too.

  • Great screenplay. Everything else, well, good enough.

Practical Magic is a basic witch story about two sisters who are brought up by there two aunts and are raised as witches. The family have a terrible curse on them though, where if they ever fall in love, the man they fall in love with will die. The movie features okay performances from the cast involved but nothing too brilliant. The screenplay to the movie which is written by the brilliant Akiva Goldsman is the best thing in the movie. It's exciting, interesting and just plain great. Quite a good movie, overall.

  • Why was this even made?!

Movies like this should not be made. Shooting Fish is dull, boring and just not interesting at all, which I guess is down to the downright awful screenplay as one of the main reasons. Kate Beckinsale is a good actress, especially in movies like Pearl Harbor and Serendipity, but here I can't even say she's good. The rest of the cast are just as bad. Just do not see this movie.

  • Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, The Movie.

Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, well, of course the movie is about Sabrina, a teenage girl who is sent to live with her two strange aunts. Whilst there, on her sixteenth birthday, Sabrina finds out she's a witch. At first, she doesn't know what to think, but she soon gets used to it. It's good that Melissa Joan Hart who also plays Sabrina in the TV Show, of the same name plays Sabrina here too as she really suits the role. It's a shame we don't have the likes of Jenna Leigh Green here though who played Libby Chessler for a few years on Sabrina, the TV Show, as she was really great, but fans of the show will most likely like this movie, anyway. I also think this is better then some of the other Sabrina TV movies.

  • The ups and downs of the Tenenbaum family!

The Royal Tenenbaums is a strange, different movie and it certainly delivers what the movie is meant to be about. I'm sure fans of Wes Anderson will not be disappointed. The movie features good performances from the good cast involved, including Ben Stiller, Gwyneth Paltrow, Gene Hackman, Luke Wilson and Owen Wilson. The story to the movie is of course about the Tenenbaum family who are all basically a family of geniuses. As the family get older they begin to drift apart even more then they were before, but when Royal, the father of the family announces that he's dying, the family all meet up again. The Royal Tenenbaums is of course a comedy, but it sure does have it's drama in it and even though I wouldn't say it was the most brilliant movie around as it's not really 'my type of movie,' it is recommended for those who want to see a different comedy as it will and does have it fans.

  • Expected more and needed a different cast!!!!!!

Thir13en Ghosts is about about a rich collector who supposedly dies and then leaves his house and all his collections to his nephew and two kids. When they enter the house, everything looks good at first, but then they realise that the house is not all it seems and is really a "machine built by the devil and powered by the dead" with twelve ghosts 'living' in it and a thirteenth ghost is needed to join them.

I usually love these kind of haunted house, horror, ghost movies and if people like these kind of movies too, then they might not mind this movie, but there are definitely better ones out there. One of the main reasons as to why I am saying this is because the cast in this movie are SO awful and unbelievable, it makes the movie hard to enjoy and take even a little bit seriously.

The worst performances definitely come from Shannon Elizabeth, (Joint with Salma Hayek for first place as one of the worst actress' around.) Tony Shalhoub, F. Murray Abraham, Alec Roberts and Rah Digga who all NEVER give good performances anyway, so I didn't expect much of them. Couldn't they of had better actors to play there parts. Matthew Lillard suits his role as the nutty Dennis, even though he's always really playing this kind of role in many of his movies.

There's nothing wrong with a little humour in horror movies, but sometimes it a movie like this just doesn't need it.... A couple of different things needed like a change of cast would of made the movie SO much more enjoyable as I like I've already said I do *love* these kind of movies and the basic story-line here and the special effects used for all the gore in the movie are okay.

  • Great Animated Movie!

Monsters, Inc. is a brilliant, fun movie for everyone of all ages and definitely deserved the Oscar nomination it has received. Let's hope it wins too. The voice talents in the movie, include Billy Crystal, Steven Buscemi and John Goodman. They were all great and really funny too. You couldn't ask for anyone better and little Boo was just *so* lovely and cute. Monsters, Inc. is one of the best animated movies I've seen and I'm not surprised that it's doing so well. If you like these type of movies then there is no way you would be disappointed in Monsters, Inc. See it!

  • Monica in Black and White.

I found Monica in Black and White really interesting to watch. Basically, Monica was sitting on a stage alone and there was an audience watching her and they were allowed to ask her any questions they wanted and she would answer them. There have been quite a few shows about Monica, but this is definitely the best one, as she is really being her true-self and seemed to be quite comfortable too. You can just see she's just a nice, fun-loving, normal woman who made a mistake and I hope her future will be good. I would recommend Monica in Black and White to people wanting to watch a good documentary style show. This is really good.

  • Sarah Jessica Parker and friends....

Sex And The City is a great show about four friends in New York who meet up to talk about guys, shopping and of course mainly sex. Sarah Jessica Parker is absolutely brilliant as Carrie Bradshaw. Parker is one of my favourite actress' and Carrie is my favourite character in the show. I don't mind the rest of the cast either, but I really think Kim Cattrall who plays Samantha Jones is getting too slutty and trampy for her own good. I know her character is meant to be like that, but.... Anyway, Sex And The City is a fun, girly show to watch, which I'm sure many people can relate too. It's of course a sex comedy, but there are times when the characters are put into difficult situations and most of the time everyone seems to pull it off well.

  • An Award Winning Brilliant Movie!

Russell Crowe brilliantly plays John Nash in this true story of John Nash, a mathematical genius who is diagnosed with schizophrenia and goes on to receive the prestigious Nobel Prize. Performances from the two leading stars, Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly are absolutely brilliant. They definitely deserved there Oscar nominations as did the Ron Howard who directed the movie and Akiva Goldsman who wrote the screenplay. Adam Goldberg also gives a good performance here in a supporting role. A Beautiful Mind is a touching and interesting movie which is really great and I give it a 10/10.

  • An all star cast pull of a great movie.

I was definitely anticipating Ocean's Eleven, so I knew I would see it straight away. The movie features an all star cast, including, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Elliot Gould, Julia Roberts, Carl Reiner, James Caan, Casey Affleck and many more. I have to say Elliot Gould was brilliant and really funny. The rest of the cast are good too. This and the reason the movie was a remake of the popular original Ocean's Eleven are just two of the reasons why Ocean's Eleven has been doing really well. Of course, the movie itself is great too and as the movie goes on, it gets more and more interesting. The robbery scenes, especially are always stylish and slick. I would recommend Ocean's Eleven.

  • Amazing Anne Frank!

This version of The Diary Of Anne Frank is absolutely brilliant and of course *very* sad too, especially as I am Jewish, myself. Melissa Gilbert is great as Anne Frank as are rest of the cast, including Maximilian Schell, who played Otto Frank and Scott Jacoby, who played Pete Van. The Diary Of Anne Frank is highly recommended to anyone of any age, as is the book, which I'm sure most people have read by now.

  • Might of worked better if it was an American movie.

Virtual Sexuality is a terrible movie, one of the main reasons being the cast, who are awful. The idea of the movie, where a young girl creates a perfect guy in a virtual reality machine and then he comes to life, is not exactly original, but it's not a terrible idea and I think if this was an American movie, it might of worked better. The nude scenes were also inappropriate. They always seem to do that in British movies like this.

  • A great movie about friendship and fun.

Now and Then is about four childhood friends, Sam, Roberta, Teeny and Chrissy, who make a pact to to meet up again when they're older, incase they all go off and do different things and one of them needs the others. Well, when Chrissy is pregnant, Teeny and Sam return to there old home town, where Chrissy and Roberta still live, to see them both. Once they meet up, they all go into there tree house, which they got when they were younger and they remember one certain summer, where they all had a lot of fun and found out different things about each-other and themselves.

Theres a great cast in Now and Then, including Gaby Hoffmann, Christina Ricci, Thora Birch, and Ashleigh Aston Moore, who play the young Sam, Roberta, Teeny and Chrissy and Demi Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, Melanie Griffith and Rita Wilson, who play them when they're older. All performances are great, especially Gaby Hoffman, who is brilliant as usual. Devon Sawa and Hank Azaria also have a small, but good roles in the movie too.

Now and Then has always been one of my all time favourite movies. I especially love the premise of the movie. Now and Then is a brilliant movie, which features a great soundtrack too and includes the amazing theme tune, "Now and Then" from the great Susanna Hoffs. I give Now and Then a 10/10.

  • Barbra Streisand is the star, directer, producer and co-writer of this brilliant movie.

Barbra Streisand plays Yentl, a Jewish woman, who studies the Torah. When Yentl wants go to Yeshiva, she is not allowed to, as it's only for men, so Yentl disguises herself as a man, so she can do the religious training, she really wants to do at Yeshiva. Everything is going great, until she falls in love with a male friend at Yeshiva.

Yentl stars the brilliant Barbra Streisand, who also directed, produced and co-wrote the movie with Jack Rosenthal. She gives a great performance as usual. As do the rest of the cast, including Amy Irving and Miriam Margolyes.

Yentl is an extremely great movie. It's heart-warming, funny and interesting. If you're a Streisand fan or just want to see a good movie, then Yentl is for you. The soundtrack is great too.

  • Needs some getting used to it.

Smallville is a show, about the early years of Superman. The show is an interesting idea, but is no way in the same league as other brilliant supernatural shows like, Roswell and Angel, which are both great. Smallville is quite watchable though and newcomer, Tom Welling is good as Clark Kent and Michael Rosenbaum is great as Lex Luthor.

  • Ethan Hawke is the one who gives THE great performance!

Training Day is a crime, drama movie about Jake, a young cop who wants to be a detective, so with the help of fellow cop and detective, Alonzo, Jake goes on a training day to see if he can make it. Things aren't as they seem though when the good cop turns bad and Jakes training day goes from bad to worse.

I didn't think Training Day was brilliant, but it was a different, crime, cop movie and was mostly interesting. It gets a bit slow at times and not all the performances are great, but the performance from Ethan Hawke is great. He's a brilliant actor. I give Training Day a 5/10.

  • One Of My All Time Favourite Woody Allen Movies!

Everyone Says I Love You is brilliant movie. One of the main reasons is, it's just very enjoyable, it can't fail to entertain the audience watching. The movie features great acting, as well as some great music. It's been directed and also stars, the great Woody Allen, who has made quite a few somewhat strange, but brilliant movies like this and I can tell you, only he can make a movie like, Everyone Says I Love You. Besides, Woody Allen, the rest of the *all star* cast, includes Natasha Lyonne, Natalie Portman, Gaby Hoffmann, Goldie Hawn, and Drew Barrymore. All of them, whether there scenes are big or small, do great here. Everyone Says I Love You is recommended.

  • Made a nice change for me anyway

Well, to tell you the truth I'm not really used to foreign language films so it made a nice change seeing, Abre los ojos. (Open Your Eyes). I've already been to see the 'remake', Vanilla Sky a couple times and I think it's *absolutely brilliant*.

I actually saw this film after seeing Vanilla Sky and I was glad I did as I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about. IMO, I definitely preferred Vanilla Sky to this film, for many different reasons, but I think in both the films opinions will alway differ.

Abre los ojos is quite a good film and well acted too. I think it would be good if people saw both, Abre los ojos and Vanilla Sky.
