This serie was never so focused on the story, but at the least they tried. In many of the previous chapters they built up a tense atmosphere where death was palpable and you couldn't really predict what was coming next (to some extent, ofc).
In this chapter they completely gave up. The story is there just to fill the voids between one death and another. The completely embraced the trash side of the serie, giving up on pretending to be a serious movie. For me, they ruined it.
The characters are basically blank, their personalities are stereotyped over any reasonable level and their actions are plain stupid. Zero effort was spent on trying to cause any sympathy or empathy for a character, their only purpose is to die in a spectacular way so that the 15yo in the movie theater can have a big laugh.
I know, that was the point of any character in every Final Destination movie. But at the least you could feel a little bit of mistery, or connection, or be surprised by the way the story unraveled.
Nothing of that is left here, except for the load of spectacular deaths. As a result the main message of the movie is: Final Destination is officially dead. This (and possibly next movies?) are just parodies of what was the original serie.

It's really hard to watch, as a privileged European. Being that comfortable, in a movie theatre, knowing that everything you see is true and is happening right now to people that was just born on the other side of our common sea, makes your stomach sick.
I loved it, and yet I don't know if I could see it again. Makes you feel helpless.
On the bad side (yes the other one was the good sire), it is too fast on some parts, you feel like they are skipping a lot. The story was probably just too long to be told in 2h. Some characters are not developed enough, they lack depth. I also felt like the true story was a little sweetned, to make it easier to watch.
