As a multiple time book reader and viewer of much social media content, S3 has knocked it out of the park. Many climactic scenes are not what I expected, but an emotional roller coaster throughout. There are many ways to get to the same destination. Just wow - please Amazon and Sony - bring on S4 and beyond.
The show progresses the hunt for the black ajah and the domination bands and Nynaeve faces the consequences of a major impediment to her talents; Mat has an out of world experience; Moiraine and Lanfear have the showdown we all expected: and Rand channels Paul Maud'Dib in seeking his destiny.

Best of all episodes so far - all seasons. Have read the books, many, many times since 1990 and I often skip this part in rereads. However, it was an awesome experience visually. They translated the words to pictures in an excellent way. It explains what women will see when entering the rings in Rhuidean - many possible futures, and what Rand will experience - going back in time with every step taking him further and further into the past until we see the origin of the Aiel. It really is a Rand focussed episode for those that think the show has so far been focussing on the women leads. An equal oppportunity show.
The book nerds who've read the books a millions times will nay say about the changes to some of the character back stories. However, with 14 solid books and over 2700 characters some editorial licence was always going to be required to bring it to life. I have found the first 3 episodes more enthralling that either GoT or Foundation - and I've read all the books in each series (and Shanarra and Dune]. Moraine, Nynaeve and Rand are how I imagined them. I like what they have done with the use of the one power in the first battle and the Whitecloak Questioner is suitably hateable. Trollocs are suitably fearsome and well done. Liked the dark friend treatment in Episode 3 - highlighting they could be anyone. Main story line is relatively true to the book with some omissions.. Those that haven't read the books and have no preconceived ideas should find this enjoyable and entertaining as the episodes progress - clearly has to be some character development in episode 1, but the action develops quickly. Looking forward to what is to come.
