This was a movie I really looked forward to, but at the same time was afraid of being bad, because I liked the original trilogy so much.
I am happy to say that it is a movie well done and it understood what made the original work.
IMO it doesn't really reach the highs of the originals where you just burst out laughing, but it has its own charm and Liam Neeson was probably the best casting choice they could have made.
There are a lot of easter eggs for fans of the original.
Its biggest advantage over the original are the action scenes, while the comedic timing on the other hand is sometimes not just not good, but tedious (some scenes felt like Family Guy where it is just stretched for too long).
After watching I asked myself "would I like it as much, or less, if this was the first naked gun movie I ever watched".
I came to the conclusion that I would probably think it as much as I do right now.
It is a good movie in a niche genre when it comes to big productions and can stand on its own feet.

I heard a lot about this movie and finally watched it, what can I say? It is great!
The animation is really well done and reminds me of a mix of Spiderverse and Arcane, also it lays fantastic groundwork for visual jokes.
The story itself is fine, though it is more of a string that connects the songs and the jokes.
I would have loved to see more and the romance + character arc is quite shallow in my opinion.
I guess the creators really had to decide what they were going for because if they made it WITH more background the movie could have easily had 30-40 minutes more.
For me it really paid off though and for what it is, it is nearly perfect.
Sounds dumb when I say it out loud (or write it out LOUD), but don't expect too much deep story and just enjoy the music and jokes in KPop Demon Hunters.
