Quite possibly one of the most boring season finales I've seen. The characters are basically all over the place at this point. I debated skipping this episode entirely and truth be told, if I did, it would've been inconsequential.
Why the show runners felt the need to deviate from the source material so much is beyond me. What they failed to realize for this season, was that perhaps the most compelling story, was the actual story! The first season did an amazing job at wiping away the bad stain the ending of Game of Thrones left when it ended. The second season, on the other hand, with exception of maybe 2 or 3 episodes, unfortunately reminded us of what happens when you abandon the source material.

The show at this point definitely has a character problem. From the start Team Black has been set up to be the protagonists, but they are all just so boring. I think the Rhaeneyra/Mysaria moment at the end was the show jumping the shark. The worst part is that unlike Game of Thrones, the writers actually DO have the source material. Why are they ruining characters so deliberately? In the books Daemon was almost totally unfazed by Harrenhall. His character has been neutered. Also, Aemond was devoutly loyal to his family, not himself. Leave it to the showrunners to ruin yet more great characters in this universe.
The lone bright spot of the season has been Aegon, who unfortunately now is bedridden and will never be the same. I think I prefer Team Green at this point, only because him and Otto have been the only interesting characters this season.
Can't wait to watch next weeks filler episode! Maybe it will be a great set up for season 3.
