I love Ricky Gervais for his standup. I haven't seen The Office.

I thought that when I'm watching a show that has more than 7 stars I'm safe from such a God awful writing. This happened and than this happened and then of course he gets mugged by a two teenagers in broad daylight because why not; to mention one concrete example.

Like other have said it's a fantasy/vanity project and frankly more than anything it's pathetic. A collection of scenes loosely tied together to show several sentimental one-liners and jokes that never land as I'm confused whether this scene is supposed to be a sad one or another sketch Gervaise came up with when writing this.

I don't know this thing is like a free fall from the first episode on.

The first episode was decently enjoyable and made the show seem quite promising. But from then on it was just worse and worse. Characters made no sense the plot started to escalate so extremely fast and unnaturally I felt uncomfortable.

What's the deal with this show? I don't understand. What was the intention, the premise, the underlying reason why they wanted to make this. The show has an R rating but it feels like something made for children the gore absolutely doesn't reflect anything in the show.

The soundtrack is amateurish, nearly constant and quite irritating, yet again elevating the child-esque feel of the show. Sound design is empty. The animation is decent but some shots seem out of place. The choreography is also quite lacking. The art is the best part of the show but you can see that from the trailer.

Not worth your time.

I believe the show gets too much hate for just one season, there is just too much expectation.

I'll start with the bad. It is slow, plot solidifies its direction in the last episode. It's not as charming as the first Castlevania, but what can topple the charm of Dracula and Lisa. It suffers a little bit from netflixation.

But there is a lot of good stuff. The writing is good witty but with some cliches. I would didn't see anything forced really. The characters have personalities contrary to what I've read in several reviews, some feel a little bit out of place (netflixation) but they are worked into the world decently well. Animation is top notch also the art but some locations look too picturesque for my liking. Soundtrack is amazing and not too intrusive and plays in the right moments. Overall I would say the first season is a great foundation for what could become a great series.

Well worth a watch.
