This movie was better than expected! I didn't really like the remake, but in this one the animals showed more emotion or something, cause it didn't feel as soulless. It has a good and interesting storyline. It was funny at times, emotional
and I like it when they use foreshadowing for Mufasa's faith in The Lion King. It's one of the ways to tie the stories together. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the music. In my opinion Disney music these days is all the same. The original Lion King (not the other one like this) had one of the best soundtracks of all Disney movies, and it's one of the reasons that it's one of my favourite Disney movies if all time. The soundtrack of Mufasa is bland and generic. But all in all still an enjoyable watch.
It has its ups and downs, but overall it's a well made documentary. I do have to say that it's a hard watch because the case is disturbing. And by that I mean really disturbing. It involves such young children (youngest being 9) and the details that are shared are sickening.
I genuinely feel like I wasn't prepared for this experience, cause the way they made this, with the police pictures of Olivier reenacting what happened and how it happened, made me feel like being there in a way, actively watching them commit their crimes. It's disturbing.
No true crime documentary has gotten to me this way before.
And for the people giving this below 5 stars for it being English dubbed, just keep the French and use subtitles. Do you never watch anything other than your own language?..
