A business that took care of its employees, respected its customers and where everyone was everyone else. If you had a nickel, you mattered just as much as the person next to you. And apparently, the food was awfully good. I sit pondering the land of lunacy, stupidity and ignorance this always flawed but once reasonably bright, reasonably optimistic country that I grew up in,served and loved, has become,I can only cry,smile and laugh, and cry some more as I watched this wonderful film. Watching and hearing the shared joy and hope of those who graced it,I am glad they were able to eat the pie and drink the coffee and now have had the chance to remember it so fondly.

The love, enjoyment and wonder that filled the life of this remarkable lady is shared and felt as you watch and listen. It also makes plain that the (mostly) well intentioned parodies of her voice, mannerisms and actions are as much a pale imitation of her as the various attempts to showcase her achievements and impact. This film does a wonderful job of seeing her as she seemingly was. What she felt, how she felt and what she did and why. Watch and enjoy and share the love.

Knowing how so many black hearts seem to have their way in the world, being shown one of pure heart who is up against it is always a gut wrenching thing to see and feel.... A good man,of good heart and of good love is too often no match for the world and the affinity for those who are less in all that should matter and more on the things that shouldn't is well more than most want to see. A bitter reminder of our better selves denied. Watch it and feel it. It is the feeling part they don't like, I think...
