I'm a reader and most of the time, I'm disappointed in the director's choice in actors and storyline change (Hunger Games, All the lights we cannot see etc). So I understand the disappointment of the original manga readers, tho I'm not a reader. As a movie goer, without reading the manga, I would say this was surprisingly a great watch. I'm hooked from beginning to end. And I can't wait to watch the next sequel. I feel like the storyline was complicated but the editing was good enough that I can enjoy the movie and understand the plot without prior knowledge. I'd say give it a try. It's entertaining, full of action and the actors weren't disappointing.
Alright, this is interesting. While some approached zombie genre with all seriousness, this one offer a fresh take, rather unserious, to it.
I love zombie movies, The Walking Dead was my favorite, where I binge watched all the episodes while rooting for the characters to stay alive - and stay true. So when I saw my favorite K-actress took this project, I couldn't help myself but to get excited.
Jisoo took a role as an engineer-graduate working a 9-5. She has a boyfriend, Jaeyoon, who is in military. It was a complicated relationship.
This was a mere introduction to the story and as expected, not much yet going on. But I want to highlight the scene where they 'almost' broke up. That one was a real touching scene, made beautifully without the exaggeration; twisted in a little humor between Youngjoo and her mom. Overall, a promising opening, can't wait for the enxt episode!

Now it's beginning to take shape! The zombie outbreak is starting to create a mess in the heart of the city.
What's intriguing was, in this one scene where there was a car accident, I found myself angry with how many people watch and film without giving any help. That's the society before they know they're in the middle of a zombie outbreak. How will these people act in even worst situation, the zombie attack itself?
I know it's a comedy genre but I can't help thinking about the real life situation that they actually portray and wrapped in this comedic presentation.
Will Youngjoo make it? Will she got betrayed? Or worse, will she go as far as betraying others in order to survive?
A heroin is not a heroin just because they survived. Some hero died doing what's tight. But as for me, I hope Youngjoo stay alive while being herself, a smart yet compassionate person.
