As a counsellor, it was so good to see this show reach the heights and exposure it did and start to demonstrate how the "I turned out fine" education to parenting and discourse around sex in western society is failing people.
That is until I reached season 4. I think I got three episodes in, I tried to stick with it but I'd lost all interest. It conjured and chased storylines that offer very little in the way of direction or narrative. It appears it's another brilliant idea that Netflix chose to flog until it became irrelevant. Such a shame. Appears I'm not alone here either. Another example of quit while you're ahead.

If you came way thinking this was biased, you're not as open and more insecure about your dietary choices than you think. Information was presented very clearly and really adds further evidence to what we already know. The China Study has been out for some time. The Mediterranean diets and traditional Japanese diets all point in the same direction, next to no meat and dairy in moderation. These people live longer and healthier without health care systems to subsidise them. The information has been there for a long time, and many viewers of this documentary/study through their ratings still choose to ignore the science until it's says what they seemingly want it to say.
The screenplay, scenes, colouring, performances and music are brilliant. If you cant see this, either try harder or go rewatch the Fast and Furious series. Second, as an ex-suicide line volunteer, this is not supposed to be a factual film about suicide, however, it is perfect at capturing small town and dare I say it even big town attitudes about suicide, particularly in the era intended, in 1999 (and not much has changed until now, perfectly captured by some of the responses here to the film). I saw this as a 16yo in 1999 who admired Ms Dunst. Still admire her, but back then this film went over my head. But I was a raging hormone teen boy; I found it confusing. Rewatched it and appreciate it now. Seems some IMDB users, who no matter what the age, don't develop any appreciation for film or story-telling. Lastly, after watching the Godfather III and Lost in Translation, I needed a tie breaker. This helped me forget the former.
