I'm going to skip spoilers and keep this brief. There's plenty of information in other reviews.
When I saw that Noah Wyle was starring in another ER series I was happy. As coincidence would have it, I was in season three of a rewatch of ER when The Pitt premiered. Not long ago I also rewatched Falling Skies, so my expectations were high and I was sure this was going to be a hit. It had to be, right?
I was disappointed.
As others have mentioned, the writing isn't great. The scenes were constructed around the same talking points that we hear from certain politicians, talk show hosts and actors/actresses over and over. And over.
The individual stories were just okay, nothing really noteworthy other than bits and pieces of Robby's past.
Directing was wasn't great. Tons of miscues and awkward positions/movement. It seems like might have something to do with casting and writing, but that's just my observation.
Cameras = awful. If I wanted to see camera shake action, I'd rewatch The Blair Witch Project, which I swore I would never do, but might, to compare shake counts (great for a TikTok challenge topic).
I didn't find a single shred of cast chemistry. There's Noah Wiley, and then there's everyone else. Not all, but most of the characters' stories were boring.
Nothing clicked for me. I didn't make it through the fourth episode. There are thankfully more shows emerging that have scripts which aren't woven around social politics.
