Slow burn for a decent part of the movie but its compelling enough to sit through and see how it all plays out.

Viewers are going to be left with wanting more information and I think this story would have been better played out in a TV series - most of these monster movies lately seemed to be fleshed out that way. I will say it has a slight twist that I didn't see coming. Hopefully this movie garnered enough interest to have the story played out or at least have a spinoff TV series.

Mackie plays the passionate father that has a son with medical needs. Those needs force him to leave the safety of their mountain home to go on a mission to get medical supplies. (Stop me if you've heard this one before). But the trio cast with a tortured Morena Baccarin (who is awesome) and Maddie Hassin go on that mission for supplies and a way to kill the unkillable creatures.

At any rate, you won't be mad you watched this one - solid 7 for me. It's not a creature killing action flick, it's more of a story about how to kill unkillable creatures and the people that are still alive in this universe.

... it tells a great story from a different perspective.

If you are in it to see a "John Wayne" style movie - you might be disappointed. It's a rapid journey of character development into the mind of sociopath that involves a daughter that possibly has the same tendencies.

Nicholas Cage is actually great in this flick. Nothing over the top, or what can be considered "Nicholas Cage-y" (esque?) but with all things Nicholas Cage, he brings it - and he's awesome in this one.

The plot isn't that thick and the outcome is semi-predictable but the journey hooks you and that's all that really matters. The father-daughter relationship that unfolds is the more compelling part of this flick and definitely worth seeing.

You won't get over the top action - BUT - you'll get a fantastic story with some western style shootouts. A definite must watch for me.

I'm not a huge fan of documentaries but I actually watched this from beginning to end and it held my attention throughout. Somebody already said it - I knew part of the story but this really filled in a lot of the pieces about the space industry as a whole.

The film also gives decent insight into the character of Musk and his intentions regarding space travel. He shows genuine care about the mission and the people involved.

Highly recommend even if you hate Musk - still provides a great view of the mission of space travel over the past couple of decades.
