I've been wanting to see this movie for a while now, due to the amount of praise it has received. I've heard many say that it's the best movie of the year, and after watching it, I'm happy to say that it's definitely one of the best. I totally see why this is the highest-rated movie of the year. The cinematography is absolutely amazing, and the climax of the movie with the final battle against the vampires was so good. Smoke was easily my favorite character of the movie, but every other character was really good; there wasn't a single character in the movie that I thought was bad. The movie is about two brothers trying to make a new life for themselves. They buy this location so they could throw a party for their family and friends that will provide them with wealth and freedom. At night, the party happens, and a group of three people show up at their location. These three people are actually vampires that we already saw appear in the movie previously before the party started. Later on within the movie, they find out that these people are vampires, and now they have to do whatever they can to survive the night and wait for the sun to rise. It does take a while for the movie to get to the stuff with the vampires, but when the vampires show up, the movie starts getting more and more intense. The movie is a slow burn, but when you get to the intense sequences, it feels earned. Overall, Sinners is probably the second-best movie of the year for me, and it's definitely worthy of being the highest-rated film of the year!

As everyone knows, the MCU hasn't exactly been the greatest since Avengers: Endgame. We did have some bangers, but only a couple of them. The MCU is nowhere near as consistent as it used to be, and since this is the final year before Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel has to show us that they're still capable of making consistently good MCU movies. At the beginning of this year, we got Captain America: Brave New World, which was incredibly mediocre. Then later within the year, we got Thunderbolts*, which was shockingly pretty good, but it wasn't that successful at the box office, and now here we are. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the final MCU movie of the year, and it's the MCU's final chance of getting us to care about the next Avengers movie, and after watching it, I'm glad to say that it was actually fantastic. When was the last time we got two MCU movies in a row that were actually good? Thunderbolts* might've not been successful, but as an MCU movie, it was pretty good, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps is even better. There's a likely chance that the MCU might actually start becoming consistent again. There's a lot I want to talk about, but I'll try my best to make this review spoiler-free. All the members of the Fantastic Four were great, and I don't think any of them were better than the other, but my personal favorite is Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards. I know many people are getting tired of seeing him appear in everything now, but you can't deny that he's a pretty good actor, and there was one scene in particular towards the end of the movie where he was amazing. There are many things in this movie that are amazing, and another thing I have to mention is Galactus. He was pretty much perfect, I wish we got to see more of him, but the stuff we did see was amazing. I thought Silver Surfer was fine, I wasn't that interested in her character, especially since every other character in the movie is just more interesting than her. She didn't really play that big of a role either, she was only important towards the end. I guess I should give some praise towards the other Fantastic Four members. Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm was great; she was probably my second favorite member of the Fantastic Four, only behind Reed Richards. Joseph Quinn was good as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach was good as Ben Grimm. One more thing I want to praise is the special effects; they were shockingly impressive. It's been a while since we saw an MCU movie with special effects this good, and to be honest, this might be the number one best MCU movie when it comes to special effects. I saw this movie in Prime 3D at an AMC theater, and it looked amazing. I can't imagine how good it looks in IMAX. Also, that post-credit scene was amazing. Overall, The Fantastic Four: First Steps was fantastic, and I'm not just saying that as a pun; I legitimately mean it. I originally wasn't too excited for Avengers: Doomsday, but after seeing this, Avengers: Doomsday might just be my most anticipated movie of 2026!
