This crime thriller is heavy on the flying bullets and very light on an actual story. It may be the most automatic guns fired in a film ever, all time Guinness record here. Other than that it's a typical Japanese gangster Yakuza revenge on bad cops script. Not much makes sense in most scenes. The actors basically just do illogical things from one shootout to the next. The action scenes are well choreographed. The killings are in the 100s. The disco DJ never stops playing music while everyone is getting wasted and people seem to stand around waiting to be shot to pieces all too often. So if you like mass shootings and some car crashes then this might work for you. If you need a believable cop crime versus the mob film then this is a skip, for sure.
There's not much worse than a road trip film or a western where nothing happens for long long stretches of time. This is one of those "talking by the campfire", Westerns. It's a wagon trail trip movie with an old man and a boy where almost nothing happens along the way. The cinematography, the acting, the and story are fine but the pacing is brutally and painfully slow. Such a shame someone on the film crew had to pass away by accident. There's no reason this movie needed to be made. It's been done better by others like John Wayne, in this genre. Rooster Cogburn comes to mind. Maybe it's worth a watch but drink coffee to keep yourself from nodding off.
I've no idea who would find this story engaging. It's so slow and dull with uninspired characters in a fictional setting. If it was based on a true story I might be able to forgive the dreadfully slow pacing and plot that essentially goes nowhere. Even the architect's building design is as dull as it gets and reminiscent of soviet era concrete block buildings. The characters are all mute or nasty or dull. The acting was good. The cinematography was fine. The sex is not severe at all. That's nonsense. There's a couple of scenes with the suggestion of handjobs and a suggestion of fingering in another scene. This film will put you to sleep so drink plenty of strong coffee before attempting a viewing.
