Just when you think this series can't possibly get any worse, it does. Watch Balance of Terror. Watch Journey to Babel. Watch Day of the Dove...then watch this. Do you see the difference? If you don't, then, well, please don't add children to the genepool. Frankly, at this point, I can't wait for that friggin' baffle plate to finally rupture.
I'll repeat: Just when you think this series can't possibly get any worse, it does. Watch Balance of Terror. Watch Journey to Babel. Watch Day of the Dove...then watch this. Do you see the difference? If you don't, then, well, please don't add children to the genepool. Frankly, at this point, I can't wait for that friggin' baffle plate to finally rupture.

One word review: Alien(s). (Three word review of Alien(s): The Green Slime.)
I'm done with this show. Obviously, nothing is working here. The actors do not understand their characters' legacies, the writing is abysmal through and through, and the stories are pure drek. How naive I was to even have some hopes for its artistic success: Akiva Goldsman and Alex Kurtzman have the Midas Touch in reverse. They are career no-talent hacks. I'm embarrassed, because I happen to know that Goldsman's mother was a nice person, living in her brownstone in Cobble Hill.

A holodeck comedy without the holodeck--or the comedy. The completely predictable story (didn't you guess the denouement within the first twenty minutes?) and paper-thin plotting reveal the excruciating limitations of SNW's actors' thespian talents. Also, it's thoroughly misguided, series-timeline-wise: TOS waited until long after its characters were well-fleshed-out before venturing into comedy (usually this failed, apart from "...Tribbles"). We need to know the characters well enough to understand WHY their lines are funny. And M'Benga's pathological breathiness renders half his lines uninterpretable. Come on Kurtzman and Goldsman, can't you channel a mere pittance of your highly-questionably-earned multimillions into some much-needed speech therapy for Babs? The cream-puff ending puts a merciful end to one of the fledgling series' more ridiculous backstories, however.
