When I came into this, I thought I was going to watch a quick little movie from Sony that has gone viral and that me and my friends joke about. And I was fully expecting this film to be made for three groups, Asian-American immigrants who can point to the screen and say "look mommy, I'm being represented." The second group being white American girl who move to Japan to learn about "culture" but actually just make TikToks on sacred statues and that think this movie is "kawaii" even they don't know what it means and their two brain cells can't fathom that the K in K-pop stand for Korea and the third group being overweight autistic anime loving gooners who are just as obsessed with Japanese "culture" as the white girl, except they would probably get mad that this is in English and doesn't have English subtitles because English is the only language they know but they can scarily pronounce Japanese words pretty well. But with all these expectations I watched it and I can say, Damn. First of all it gives American animated movie vibes if you know what I mean, the humor is very normie at times but it's competent. The music was fine nothing to write home about but it was at least catchy, I liked the villain and the movie has some themes about morality with the black haired hot Korean demon dude but I was just thinking why does he get the sappy backstory and get's portrayed as a hero while other demons who probably also have a sad backstory get slaughtered like cannon fodder, is it because Mr. Hot Demon is hot? And the white/Asian girls are already foaming and moaning to his every on-screen appearance. But on a serious note this film spoke to be on a personal level with my parents being of two different ethnic backgrounds. With my final thoughts I would like to say that wow I am not gay but as soon as I saw the evil demon boy band I was...uh anyways I think Bobby was cool and probably the best character and I give it a 6/10 because it's still a little cringe, bye!
