This is obviously over-exaggerated mindless entertainment. Likely VERY, VERY loosely based in truth. Ridiculous shock and awe storytelling simply for the purpose of entertaining. I admit though, the intro is fantastic. I would absolutely recommend this if you are just looking for some unique/interesting storytelling to kill some time.
This movie was good for what it was, but they should have never included the nickname Wardaddy. It gave expectations about the movie that it wouldn't fulfill. I heard Wardaddy and immediately thought it was going to be based off of Lafayette Pool and his tank crew. It could not have been more opposite. Very disappointing. If they had left Wardaddy out and made the movie about a random WWII crew it would have been great. However, the expectations they gave by name association, only to have no semblance what so ever to the actual story of the real Wardaddy, is the true let down that ruined it for me.
I barely found this series and I fell in love. However, I was dismayed to find the show leaves off with no ending. The sudden cut off of the show left much to be desired. I was really hoping to get some closure on the relationships. The only true problem with this show is the tendency to back track on Walter's EQ progress constantly. Instead of allowing the character to develop naturally. The started rely too much on Walter emotional development as story foundations and forgot that the best part is the cases. This show would have been fine if the had stepped back and really looked at the overarching theme of the show. That's why it's only 8 stars instead of ten.
