After the lackluster moneylaundring production the Original Sin was (or is) and its really disappointing performance THIS here actually is something worth your time.
It's fresh, energetic, so many positive features the old show was losing during its long run is back again; it is tense, there are lots of questions that are worth exploring for Dexter, and for which it is purposefull to make him return to the screen, there are few storylines that have huge impact on the main story, on the characters, on how their life will turn out to be. It's that old feeling that returns but also something really new, it is exciting to see Dexter (and others) in action again, many intriguing parts and characters, and finally a show I am excited for to watch.
New Blood wasn't a bad production, and it was also an interesting thing to watch, but it was also executed weirdly and kinda rushed, and ended up to be just another attempt to end the main Dexter story...
I'm glad that here, in Resurrection, as it seems they had put much effort to the pre-production processes, they made serious decisions where it's worth to go forward with Dexter (who pretty much died at first, but as an afterthought they made up their mind and just brought him back), and it doesn't feel forced at all, actually, it's like nothing really happened, we move on, and processing all that good fresh stuff that is comming with these new episodes.
So, I'm just glad that THIS at least makes sense and it takes its job seriously, to honor the OG quality and also exploring new territories. I'm excited for what is next. If you were disappointed in New Blood or Original Sin, this is actually worth watching, so I can only recommend to the OG fans.

There is something so pure and close to earth naturalistic about this series, I had no idea I'm gonna see yet something more elaborative production beyond The Last Temptation of Christ or The Passion.
I have seen many bible movies back in the days with my grandma, our family is pretty much grown up as devoted christians, I'm not necessarily a practicing one now (just occasionally), but I credit everything where credits due about it, and I also respect other religions, but mainly christianity, and whoever follows it (which is kinda a virtue nowadays, as so much disrespect is towards people with any religious belief).
Now, that being said, this series is not just a literal depiction of the Bible, it's really just a starting point of it. Imagine reading apocryphas to learn more about Jesus, and it's like everything would fit to the canon. There is so much more than we know from scriptures. The creators are so freaking considerative about what extra stories could be told based on the main material, in such way that if they were also in the scriptures would fit in 100%. And I had never seen something like this ever before. Telling basically made up stories around Jesus and everybody else that were linked to him in the upmost believable way. I actually have never seen like this yet.
I was really expecting somewhat of a cheesy narrative retelling known stories and adding some minimal extra to it. Fortunately, I stand corrected, massively so. The atention to details, both worldbuilding and character-wise actually blows my mind, we get an in depth perspective to the everyday life they live, even Jesus doing everyday human things. And the editing is so good, that the show simply flows flawlessly, I just cannot stop watching the episodes one by one, it would simply make me binge watch it if I had time for it basically (I'm actually just 3 episodes in, but I'm already hooked).
Simply one of the best shows to watch nowadays, and I'm actually shocked to say that even. Masterful production.

My girlfriend wanted to see this, but I insisted to not support it via purchasing any tickets, let's wait till it gets uploaded to the internet. And I'm glad I kept myself to that.
Tell me whatever you want, this movie has no relevant message whatsoever, not to mention, it has no storyline, only teenage angst issues are thrown at you for more than 2 hours without any real conflict(s).
Oh wait, yeah, there is some base conflict: That the witch is GREEN! Booohooo! Which is an issue here for some magical reasons, and she cries about it for the whole movie, while everyone is being mean to her for NO goddamn reason. If this wants to be an illustration of racism then it is the stupidest display so far, laughably bad representation of the theme, disrespectfully so. Don't you preach about it if you don't know the real reason of its existence in human history and in our modern society.
There are some songs that are catchy, well crafted, and, even Cynthia Erivo can actually act, I appreciate her craft here. However, that still will not release of her and Ariana's sin, the cringey behavior around the whole promotion process of this movie, the way they want to exaggerate social issues around it is not just laughable, but also straight evil and cancerously misinformative.
I simply cannot tolerate western BS anymore, you americans are way out of line and sanity.
The movie is 100% shiny garbage, enjoy!
