I watched it because I was curious about the Oscar winner for animated movie this year, and this movie also beat The Wild Robot, which is a masterpiece in my opinion.
TBH, this movie is really confusing. The lack of dialogue makes it harder to understand; the animals just meow and bark, and there is no narration. Even after watching it, I don't know the context of the movie. I mean, there's a great flood, five animals team up, and the bird is gone?
This movie is basically not for everyone. I even got bored watching it, but after understanding the context, I got the message and enjoyed it a little bit. This type of movie is hard to rewatch unless you want to rethink about the meaning of life.
I gave it maybe an 8/10 because it's a new type of movie for me. I can't really say it's a weakness or strength, and I understand how some will call it a masterpiece and some will call it overrated.

As a fan of the original Lion King, I was actually hyped when this movie was announced, but mixed reviews made me lose interest. Since it just released on Disney+, I decided to watch it, and here are my thoughts.
The movie is okay, like my rating. Obviously, this movie is not mind-blowing, but it is not as weak as I expected. The animation has really improved since the 2019 remake; their emotions are now visible. I like how (IMO) it doesn't destroy the story of the first movie; I think it's an okay prequel to a masterpiece. The music is also nice, with lots of instruments, and of course, a time skip in the story, which always happens in the Lion King franchise.
The thing I don't like is how raw the emotions are in this movie. I know they want to deliver emotion, but they can't, and this made me just watch without any emotional roller coaster throughout the movie, and sadly, this happened throughout the entire movie. I'll use the very first scene as an example: when Mufasa lost his parents, like that's how he lost them? Through a flood in a river? I know they could have made it better.
Aside from the movie, I like how they didn't include any LGBT agenda. This is a kid's movie, so I think it's better not to include those things.
For me, this movie is a solid 7: you will enjoy it, it's watchable, but it won't make you want to rewatch it. And as someone who watched the Lion Guard, the ending is interesting.

As someone who watched like 200 episodes in the series and some of the movies, the last i remembered is only the scarlet bullet and the submarine, i feel this movie has new approach comparing to those two, in a way i appreciate that but they messed a part
For me this movie has a different approach where things really get messy in the first hour, those sword fights and stuff really make me interested in the movie but in the act 2/3 the movie feel not enjoyable, no more unknown dead, basically no more trap it's just typical bomb and the main antagonist feels not really smart for killing only one men, because he could get away with several.
Basically this movie having a really great first hour but not satisfying ending and another truth revealed which make me sure this series won't end until 2030. Well for me this is just another mid conan movie.
