Werewolves is a film let down by only one thing. The films budget.
Although the fx's aren't great you have got to give it kudos for not going down the really poor cgi that blights many low budget movies (usually those tv movies about killer sharks)
Frank Grillo seems to be forever stuck in a career that never quite gets in into the big Hollywood blockbusters. Yes I know he's been in a few...
The premise is different and I can't recall another werewolf movie where the whole world is aware of their existence. This is kind of like The Purge movies where folk live normal lives apart from the one night where the rules change.
Worth watching? Yes I'd say so but werewolf movies of really good stuff are hard to come by, so it's mildly enjoyable but it's not scary.

I like Drive, I'm just not sure why.
It's got a killer soundtrack which helps, and it looks fantastic but it's lacking something. In parts it's almost a music video, at times it's like watching a trailer to a film that looks worth watching. It's feels like they've left a lot of stuff on the cutting room floor. It goes from very quiet with little dialogue to explosive violence in an instant and none of the characters are developed much, including Driver or "The Kid" himself.
It's definitely worth your time even if it does kind of leave you wondering what was the point of any of his actions in the end.

I know Michael Bay gets a lot of flack for the Transformers franchise, but in the 90's he made some of the best cinema experiences going - namely Armageddon and this, The Rock.
Filled to the brim with A-List stars, action set pieces to rival the biggest blockbusters even Spielberg brought to the screen The Rock is 100 miles per hour, lens flared action.
Yes it's over the top but isn't that exactly what we go to theatre's for? I can only do marine what Bay would bring to the superhero genre.
And obviously before I go... was that 007?? I guess only Bay and Connery know the truth. But the conversation must've taken place during filming.
