A hard film to enjoy, Eddington parades the worst of humanity in front of us and does it through characters so unlikable it's almost impressive.
Ari Aster digs into grifting, misinformation, and the casual cruelty people inflict on each other. At its core, the film is about hypocrisy every character, without exception, wears it like a badge.
The conclusion? Big corporations will always win. Always. It doesn't matter who's in charge, the machine keeps turning.
The problem is, it all feels a little too neat. For Aster, I expected something more layered. The nihilism here isn't subtle, it's blunt and almost hopeless. Maybe that's what makes it sting: it feels real, uncomfortably in sync with the world we're living in.
CGI? That jet and that car scene looked like they wandered in from a decade-old video game.

Not groundbreaking in any way, but it does strike a nice balance. Never taking itself too seriously while still keeping the stakes high enough to keep you invested in what happens next. That said, it feels underdeveloped in both story and characters, there's something missing that would make you truly care about what happens to them.
The choice to revisit the past days of each character comes across less like a meaningful narrative device and more like a patch for an undercooked plot. It doesn't add much and only delays the story's momentum.
While the premise is fun and initially intriguing, it ultimately lacks the complexity and character depth needed to leave a lasting impact.
