After a very promising 1st Season, Season 2 has unfortunately been a huge disappointment and is starting to remind me of the last few seasons of GOT. After tons of criticism throughout the season, this finale didn't help whatsoever. I'm all for a slow burn series like Andor and others, but this was just like watching paint dry and grass grow for 8 episodes. Unlike GOT, the majority of the characters aren't even relatable or likable. Just forgettable and somewhat annoying. Criston Cole feels so miscast and feels more like a guy who just came from The Bachelor or some MTV series than a medieval series. The MVP's of Season 1 imo were young Rhaenyra played by Milly Alcock and Viserys played by Paddy Considine, and their absence really shows. Reminds me of The Hobbit Trilogy tbh. Dragging out things and extending unnecessary scenes in order to make an extra movie/season. I still liked The Hobbit more than this though. Crazy that I'm saying this, but Rings of Power Season 2 might actually beat Season 2 of House of the Dragon, and I loathed Season 1 of ROP btw. But looking at this? You can't keep people waiting for 2 years, and give them this.
