This movie presented a very interesting and original idea, but the overall presentation was amateur.
All of the characters felt 'out of place',and none were believable in their roles.
The dialogue was forced and at times comical.
This movie would have benefited if it was presented as a half hour short film or as part of an anthology.
I only managed to get through 45 minutes of this movie before I gave up on it which is something that I rarely do.
I really wanted to enjoy this one but alas it was not for me.

Well I'm glad that I watched Longlegs without knowing anything but what the teaser trailer revealed.
I did not watch any reviews until I actually got to see it for myself.
It's not the scariest movie of the year as it has been hyped up to be.
It is an extremely uncomfortable experience much like SEVEN, The silence of the Lambs and is a homage to 90's psychological crime thrillers with an unexpected twist.
It is Directed by the son of Anthony Perkins (Norman Bates from Psycho). OZ Perkins.
The acting is superb, the cinematography is beautiful but unsettling. The score is reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho, and Evil Dead 2014.
There is a fair bit of subliminal messaging throughout the movie and the plot of the movie is right there in the dialogue of the first act.
Nicholas Cage is unhinged but rightly so as the character that he has created is truly terrifying.
You will either love it or you will hate it.

I was really excited about this movie when I first heard that it was in production. I watched it at home on my home theatre, big screen Dolby ATMOS system and I'm afraid it was a bit of a let down.
As a stand alone movie I may have enjoyed it a little more but it did not deliver with what my expectations were.
It did not explain anything more about the creatures except for there was a meteor shower. The impacts of the meteors were minor so they could have not been of any considerable size to carry the thousands of creatures that seemed to instantly arrive.
Like the other two movies there is minimal dialogue but I felt very little for the characters of the movie. The cat kept my attention as it was the only character that I could invest in.
The continuity in the editing is not the best and it's very obvious. I kept asking where did the cat go in certain scenes, then it would magically appear in the next scene in the main characters arms.
The streets seemed empty of any of the human carnage carried out as you would expect blood and body parts to be strewn everywhere due to the population of the city. Maybe it was to make it a more profitable movie as to lower the rating, making it accessible to a younger audience.
All in all if you like the franchise, give it a go. If you haven't watched any of the other movies then you might find it to be a totally enjoyable experience.
I'm hoping that this will not be a franchise that produces inferior chapters just to cash in on the name of the original film.
