As a director, he just doesn't seem to have a distinctive style, voice, or vision, which leaves Knock Knock feeling like a movie without an identity.

And yet... somehow, it managed to keep me engaged. Maybe it's the short runtime, or the fact that the premise reminded me of The Strangers and Funny Games, both of which I enjoyed.
