Rajesh A Krishnan's Crew comes across as a much needed breadth of fresh air amidst the propaganda and heavy action films. It is a delight to watch three actresses from different schools of acting coming together and having a blast. Particular mention must be made of Tabu and Kareena Kapoor. Kareena Kapoor Jasmine is someone who is unapologetically greedy and does not mind presenting herself as rich, at the same time there is a big loneliness underneath her fiesty nature. Kareena Kapoor does a brilliant job in portraying the different shades, Tabu's Geetha is caught between dreams and responsibilities and Tabu is her usual brilliant self. Kriti Sanon is also fairly good particularly in the scenes where her character has to show the moral dilemmas. There is a strong sense of sisterhood with some crackling chemistry. The men are also good in spite of the limited screen time. Diljit Dosanjh is so charming as the customs officer smitten with Kriti Sanon's character. KapiI Sharma as Tabu's husband spreads so much warmth. Khulbushan Kharbanda is also solid as Kareena's grandfather.
Kannan Iyer definitely credit for bringing to live an unheard tale but the writing needed to be more strong for the viewers to care about Usha Mehta, Some of the supporting characters do stand out like Sparsh Shrivastava a comrade suffering from polio but doesn't let the physical disability come in the way of his Zeal. Emraan Hashmi as Ram Manohar Lohia also does a good job in spite of having a late entry. The atmospherics of Pre independence India has been recreated well. Apart from the inconsistent writing Sara Ali Khan's Shrill performance is another minus. Unfortunately for Sara this film isn't her Raazi.
