Superman in my opinion, is the greatest hero of all time. He is the best of us. Not because of his god like powers, but because of his humanity. In recent memory it has been hard to make live big screen adaptation of the big blue Boy Scout. Are his Ideals and optimism out of date?? Does everything have to be edgy?? James Gunn came back to show that they are not and it doesn't.
Superman is a return to form for the character. He is hope, justice, compassion and camp again and I couldn't be happier. The movie has heart and comic book camp and cornieness for days. It shines in showing off what Superman stands for but stumbles when it comes to juggling stories and fleshing them out along with its characters.
The casting is perfect and everyone is great. David Corenswet excels as Superman bringing charm and vulnerability to the Man Of Tomorrow. Rachel Brosnahan brings the Lois Lane of the comics and animated series to life with her portrayal. The pair had great chemistry, I just wish you would've seen more of it and their relationship. Everything is pre established In this movie from Lois and Clarks relationship to Lex Luthors conquest to destroy Superman. It is both a blessing and a curse, if you know Superman lore you are fine. If you don't, it feels like you are jumping into a 2nd movie in a series without watching the 1st.
The movie throws a lot at you and it all goes by fast. I definitely think the movie would have been better if the runtime was over 30 minutes longer. Characters and relationships definetly could have used time to breathe. Lastly a bold lore change was made with Superman's Kryptonian parents really has me conflicted if it was the right move or not.
Supermans humanity and compassion were front and center. His care for life and Ideals are shown every time he is on screen. It brought joy to my heart seeing him prioritize life above anything else. Lex Luthor is diabolically evil in this iteration, his cunning and hatred for Superman is on full display and it is extremely entertaining, especially what he does to his ex girlfriends.
Overall Superman is a great corny comic book film that feels like a comic book through and through. Though a bit messy narritivly and could've benefited from a longer runtime, the film succeeds in establishing Superman as a beacon of hope again. It also is a great jump start to the DCU I can't wait to see what's next for this character and the DCU itself.

If you would've told me that the best live action Star Wars production Disney has made was based off a side character from a spin off movie. I think you'd be on some Rhydonium. Andor is a triumph in every sense of the word. The smartest most grounded Star Wars ever produced. No force, no Jedi, just a group of people showing the sacrifices and struggles they had to go through to make the rebellion a reality.
The writing breathes new air into the Star Wars universe showing the intricite details behind the oppression of the Empire and the birth of the rebellion. The exploration of the things people are willing to do for their cause is very profound and compelling. The series shows that a scene taking place at a banquet can just be just as suspenseful and heart wrenching as a lightsaber duel or a space battle. The originality behind everything and not relying on nostalgia is very commendable.
Characters like Cassian Andor and Luthen Rael show off the grey of the Rebellion and the moral compromises needed to achieve their goals. The gritty character journeys these two go through really shows you just how emotionally grounded and human the heroes of the rebellion are.
Big shout out to Mon Mothma and actress Genevieve O' Reilly for taking a minuscule legacy character and turning her into a well rounded prominent force, showing off why she is one of the founding members of the Rebel Alliance.
On the Imperial side of things, characters like Dedra Meero do a great job showing off how suffocating, cold, and caluclating it is to maintain order and "peace" in the galaxy. Though ironically she uses rebel tactics to get the information she wants to take them down. Once again brilliant parallels and writing.
Too many great characters to talk about like Kleya, Val, Syril, Bix and crazy Saw Gerrera are crucial parts to this compelling tale. Along with them are inspirational monologues that make you want to fight the Empire and breathe in some lethal gases.
In conclusion Andor is brilliant smart and mature storytelling that leaves you on the edge of your seat with dialogue and characters that captivate from one rebellious arc to another.

I adore the original Daredevil series. It's the closest thing to a masterpiece I have ever watched on streaming. Born Again had massive shoes to fill. Did it succeed? Yes, but barely. Daredevil Born Again suffers from conflicting visions and inconsistent storytelling . It exceeds with the characters of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk and their parallel arcs culminating together. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio carry the show with their great performances and compelling character arcs.
The shows reshoots were noticeable when you see the original supporting cast pushed to the side abruptly and see shallow new characters come in to fill that void. Karen and Foggy's presence were greatly missed throughout the show. The shows connection towards the Netflix series was inconsistent, especially with the ending of season 3. Wilson Fisk being out of prison and now running for mayor really disrespects the ending of Season 3, along with its lazy explanation.
The reshoots ultimately did save the show and made a great compelling story about Fisk and Matt trying to run away from their alter egos but slowly embracing them again.
The themes of guilt and retribution are strong, along with the recurring questions about vigilantism. I'm very happy that Disney allowed the show to be just as brutal and mature as its predecessor. The visuals were very well done though the overall aesthetic was a bit too clean for me. By the end of the season, the show is fully realized and knows what it is and it is great.
Overall Daredevil: Born Again is a worthy successor to the original series. Though its conflicting visions almost ruined the show, it also ironically saved it from its original disastrous script. I would give this a 7.5/10 if that rating was available. The Devil Of Hell's Kitchen has been Born Again.
