Alien Earth disappoints on nearly every level. The acting is wooden, the dialogue feels juvenile, and the plot lacks depth or originality. Only viewers with a taste for teen-level sci-fi clichés might find it mildly entertaining, but for an adult audience, it's a frustratingly dull experience. Avoid.
I have read a lot of negative comments about this series, and I have to disagree! This is a fast-paced thriller that you don't have to think about. It has cliched characters and lines, and it's all the better for them.
All you have to do is sit in front of a screen and be entertained without having to think too hard about the plot or characters. It is one of those TV programmes that reminds me of disaster movies from the 70s/80s, such as The Towering Inferno or Earthquake. Admittedly, it is not as good, but you see my train of thought.
This is not a serious attempt to deliver a message; you don't need a PhD to understand it! It is simply an entertaining piece of TV.

I struggled to decide on a score as there was a lot wrong with this, but it was so compelling. Comparable to a great page-turning holiday read. It's not Dickens, but sometimes we all need a bit of light escapist stuff.
I agree.

The 2nd series so far is awful, much worst than the first series. Apologies to the actors, but many of them simply don't have the experience or screen presence for the characters they play. The language is childish and tries to inject humour, which fails badly. Don't bother.
I have read all the books, and the series should be billed as 'inspired by', and that is being generous. Apple and other companies aim their product at the younger market and completely ignore anyone with half a brain and aged 30 plus. So, if you are 18 and with an attention span of a few seconds, this is for you.
It could have been so much better.
