I've seen the movie several times over the years and decided to watch it once again a few days back. Even though I knew the story by heart, I found myself completely engaged throughout the movie(something that rarely happens with rewatches). It's a magical thing when you watch a film and you forget that its completely hand-drawn. The story, the animation and the execution has to work together perfectly without any lags for that to happen and this is one of the few hand drawn animation movies to do just that. I've been watching all kinds of films all my life, including animation films and this is the film that broke my perception that 'animation movies are for kids'. When Rafiki, a baboon character, said "Oh yes, the past can hurt. But, you can either run from it or, learn from it.", it really hit hard. But it also made me realise that any kind of movie can teach a man about conducting one's life and disregarding a film to be only child's worth just because it is an animated feature makes it an ignorant decision.

Oh! What I'd give to watch the film for the first time again.
