A clunky mess from start to finish. Witchouse tries for horror but lands squarely in accidental comedy. The plot's thin, the effects are cheap, and the acting is so wooden it starts to feel like parody. Characters make baffling choices, and the pacing drags like a bad school play. I gave it 3/10 only because the performances were so bad they became oddly entertaining. If you're after real scares, look elsewhere. This one's strictly for masochists or mockery.
I had to watch it twice but I'm glad I did. Perpetrator is strange, stylish & full of bite. It throws you into a world where girls are vanishing, blood has power & growing up means turning into something wild. The story follows Jonny, a rebellious teen sent to live with her mad Aunt Hildie. Things get weird fast. On her 18th birthday, Jonny goes through a transformation called "Forevering" that gives her strange powers, like feeling other people's pain, bleeding when they bleed, seeing through their emotions. It's messy, & loaded with symbolism.
Alicia Silverstone is electric as Hildie. She's clearly having a blast, playing the role with a mix of charm, menace & total chaos. Whether she's baking blood cakes or handing out lipstick punishments, she owns every scene.
The film looks gorgeous. Rich colors, eerie shadows & a very dreamlike vibe that makes everything feel just a little off. The school scenes are especially creepy, with lockdown drills, shady staff & a constant sense that something awful is coming.
The horror isn't gore. It's about control, fear & how society treats young women. Kian McKirnan plays Jonny with grit & vulnerability. You believe her journey, even when the plot gets weird. And it certainly does get weird. Some parts didn't fully connect for me , but that I think is part of its charm. It's a bit messy & a bit raw.
If you like horror that's different, that makes you think & doesn't play it safe, Perpetrator is worth your time. Quirky, dark & packed with meaning, it sticks with you long after the credits roll.
I absolutely loved it.

MobLand is a proper gem, easily one of the best British gangster shows in years. Helen Mirren is ice-cold as Bella Harrigan, Pierce Brosnan oozes charm & danger, and Tom Hardy brings real grit to Harry Da Souza. Paddy Considine's tortured Kevin is spot on.
The supporting cast aren't just there to pad the story line, they all add to the dynamics of the plot & each has played an important part by the end of the series.
The story moves fast, the dialogue hits hard, and there's no filler. It's not just about gangsters, it's about family, power, & what people do when the pressure's on. Every scene feels tense, but it never goes over the top.
It looks great too. Stylish without being flashy, with a soundtrack that keeps things simmering underneath & the best use of "The Beast in Me" by Johnny Cash in a series ever. You believe in this world, and you want to stay in it.
Absolutely brilliant.
