While marketed as a horror film, Hillock Haunting feels more like a family drama with light supernatural elements. The story centers around a father and his daughters who inherit a remote farm, only to face mysterious happenings that may or may not be linked to their father's final wishes. The cinematography does a good job of capturing the rural isolation, and the performances, especially from the younger cast, are emotionally grounded. However, horror fans may be disappointed by the lack of scares and suspense. There's a mood of unease throughout, but it never truly escalates into anything terrifying. Still, the film offers a touching story about family bonds, responsibility, and the unseen weight of inheritance.
Horse Healing is a peaceful, heartfelt film that invites viewers into a story about emotional recovery, guided by strong Christian faith and the healing power of animals. It doesn't rely on flashy visuals or dramatic tension, but instead offers a sincere portrayal of how people can reconnect with themselves, their loved ones, and God. Horses play a pivotal role in the film, serving as companions and symbols of grace. The film is slow-paced but intentionally so-it mirrors the gentle process of healing. Perfect for family viewing or church groups, this film is a soothing reminder that sometimes peace comes not through noise, but through stillness, prayer, and quiet love. A deeply spiritual and emotionally enriching experience.
From its ominous opening frames, Bigfoot Blood on the Farm establishes an atmosphere of dread that never lets up. The directors transform their rural location into a character itself - the sprawling farm becoming increasingly sinister as daylight fades. What begins as subtle disturbances (missing livestock, strange footprints) escalates with perfect pacing into all-out survival horror. The sisters' performances feel remarkably natural, their fear responses avoiding horror movie clichés. Bigfoot himself is a revelation - more wild animal than mythical creature, with physicality that makes every appearance terrifying. While some may find the deliberate pacing challenging, the payoff delivers some of the most intense creature action since The Descent. A standout in both Bigfoot cinema and indie horror.
