Scenes feel rapid paced. All of these episodes feel rushed, unlike the original Dexter series, where there was time to express a scene. Now everything feels like it was made for people who'd glance at their phone periodically.
The scene with the cop walking in an finding her favorite guitar was so incredibly expected that I said her exact line before she said it herself, which we all laughed at. There was no tension at all. I could have yawned.
When Dexter gets home, Harry is already going off on him and asks why Dexter didn't tell him what happened to Mad Dogg with the whole "when were you gonna tell me?!" spiel. Mind you Dexter just came back from ensuring his following of the code.
What was he gonna do? Break the code and call from a booth which would trade the call to the crime if they investigated his death?
Was Dexter supposed to notify him through carrier pigeon?
I could go on about how this series fails the original, but let's just end it there.

Leaving the dog in the kennel definitely had me upset lol. It's his first Prime released project, so I can't fault them for it feeling clunky. It felt more like a YouTube series than something streaming on a paid platform.
There are good actors, and then there are awkward ones.
Touching on the subject of sleep is definitely vulnerable since we all need it, and fellow insomniacs can understand sitting in the middle of being sleepy and being alert.
It's not entirely scary because dying in your sleep is considered the most peaceful way to go, save for those who are awake and watching this happen to others.
...
Still, he should've freed the dog from the kennel. Rookie mistake in movies: you always spoil the dog.

There is no love for the books in this series. There is no consideration for the fans. This is a cash grab series to bait fans of the LOTR movies.
The characters are empty, uninteresting, narcissistic, egotistical, cliche, teeth grinding cringe, and worthless.
The cinematography is horrible, an eye sore, a migraine.
Absolutely nothing about this series feels like the Lord of the Rings universe.
The fight scenes are amateur at best.
The plot? What plot? The originality to the LOTR story? Where?
This is nothing but producers doing what they usually do with something they love and don't understand.
They did this with The Witcher, they did this with Halo, they did this with The Hobbit.
If you loved the Lord of the Ring books and those written along it's universe, if you loved the LOTR film trilogy from the early 2000's, DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW.
I believe in earnest that shows like Rings of Power should not exist. The negative reception that season 1 received was enough to tell Amazon that a second season would only lead where The Witchers Netflix left off - a series cancelation.
