This is a touching and meaningful movie with a profound underlying meaning.
I went into this movie with very high hopes, having heard from friends and seeing clips online and it certainly lived up to the hype.
The movie is a tale of resilience and a father's relentless efforts to provide for and remain in his son's life. The struggle he endures for almost the entirety of the movie is hard to watch, and it is brought across in a skillfully shot way.
Through these struggles, you can see the strong father-son bond, with a complete refusal to give up. This resilience is the hardest-hitting aspect of this movie, in my opinion. When all odds are against Chris, with everything going against him, he always finds a way to move forward and pursue his dream whilst continually helping others simultaneously.
This unrelenting pursuit of happiness eventually paid off, demonstrating the importance of not giving up and working as hard as you can.
Will Smith has a standout performance in this, demonstrating a range of emotions and a wonderful father-son connection. The kind of performance that leaves a lasting imprint on someone's brain, demonstrating the priorities and template for being a real man in today's society, providing for one's family.
I will be thinking about this movie for some time, using it to inspire perhaps my own pursuit of happiness in the future, reminding me of the importance of hard work and resilience.

This movie is the best murder thriller I have seen. Fincher demonstrates expert story telling through a dark and twisted storyline that leaves viewers shocked in their seats.
The framing of each shot portrays the eerie and odd feel of the movie, never allowing the viewer to relax. The absence of light in many of the settings helps bring to life the nature of the events that are being experienced.
The story itself is a masterpiece in its complexion. As you progress through the movie Doe's actions become planned in greater detail revealing the twisted nature and the particular attention to detail the killer pays to his religious crusade. His way of bringing attention to the loss of values and principles in society leaves a lasting impression.
Two excellent performances from Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, really bringing across the disparity between the techniques of the rookie compared to the veteran detective. Pitt emulating the rookies emotion polluted actions while Freeman brings the level headed and more methodical thinker.

This is my second time watching this movie and i have found it drastically better second time around. My first time was when i was much younger and less educated hence why i found the content confusing and quite boring at the time, despite the actually very good explanations given throughout the movie. Since then i have now studied A-Level Economics and have taken an interest in the business world. This significantly elevated my experience of the movie as i now understood the technical terms they talked about.
I thought that the portrayal of the story and the chopping and changing of the characters you follow. The story is clear and pretty easy to follow if you are concentrating and the character performances are superb! Steve Carrel and Ryan Gosling are stand outs for me.
A thoroughly enjoyable insight into the world of banking and the financial crash of 2008. Exposing the fraudulent systems that can be put in place despite our knowledge. It is scary what people can do with money.
