Disclaimer, I have studied film recreationally for five years and at university for two and some change. I am astonished that this film got so many bad reviews because "The Last Stop in Yuma County" has to be one of the tightest movies I've seen in a long, long time. Think "Whiplash" levels of tight writing here.
The characters are all interesting and have distinct voices.
The plot itself is the highlight here, constantly building....building....building tension until it explodes in inevitable violence towards the end of the film. In addition, not a second of screen time is wasted, and this is truly impressive.
The written aspects of this film are some of the closest I've seen to perfected in a neo-western since "Fargo," and I cannot recommend "The Last Stop in Yuma County" highly enough.
