Sultan of Delhi takes you on a captivating journey into the city's criminal underbelly. Though the series takes off in Lahore, the story travels to Delhi, Mumbai and Calcutta of the sixties. With pit stops in the ravines of Central India as well as UP. The story has a very big canvas and kudos to the producer and director to take on the mantle of making a mega project at a time when people are busy making arty series shot inside a house, school, engineering college or hostel. That is easier to do but this needs guts and Milan Luthria definitely does the job with Flair. All the actors come out with flying colours specially the guys who plays Bangali. He is a revelation. Though we know him already as Sharad Shukla from Mirzapur, he comes into his own in this show. I always feel the best actors are found in these type of parts where the writer director and actor are willing to take risks and surprise audience. This element of surprise plays a major role in making Sultan of Delhi one of my favourite shows of the year.
