First, we got the awful Popeye the Slayer Man, and now Popeye's Revenge? I'm so tired of seeing public domain characters like Popeye, Steamboat Willie, and Winnie-the-Pooh constantly turned into horror villains instead of being given the decent, fun content they deserve.
Popeye should be a lighthearted, adventurous character-not some haunting myth chasing people around a summer camp. But every time a character enters the public domain, it feels like the only creative idea anyone has is to make a slasher flick. Horror movies aren't inherently bad, but using beloved childhood icons this way just feels lazy and disrespectful.
Let's be honest-Popeye has never really gotten the cinematic treatment he deserves. The Robin Williams film faced mixed reviews, the promising CGI reboot was canceled in favor of The Emoji Movie, and now we get this? Another horror rehash that rides on a famous name without delivering anything worthwhile.
I just want people to make entertaining Popeye content-something that actually honors the character. Horror isn't the only genre out there. It's time for more creativity and less shock value.

I'm honestly exhausted by the never-ending wave of Steamboat Willie horror movies. Mouse of Horrors is yet another example of creators taking a classic character like Mickey Mouse and warping him into a grotesque horror figure for shock value.
What happened to just making good, average, entertaining content? Every time a character enters the public domain, it's like the only idea anyone has is "turn it into a slasher." Steamboat Willie is a huge part of animation history-and instead of celebrating that, we get things like this.
The plot here is your typical horror setup: a seaside town, a mad doctor, a monstrous creation, body parts, chaos... You've seen it all before, just with a twisted nod to Mickey thrown in. It's uninspired and disrespectful to the legacy of a character who stood for creativity, humor, and charm.
