I haven't seen this movie in theaters (I have no plans to do that anyways), but from the trailers and media I've seen, I knew this movie was going to be disappointing.
I actually remember seeing a few scenes from the first teaser trailer, and I could immediately predict this was not going to be good. There was a live action scene around the start (i didn't see that part in any more trailers after that, god knows if that scene even made it into the movie or it was just a clip exclusive to the teaser trailer idk), and there was a joke in that exact scene that absolutely sucked. And the rest of that trailer was just boring and had bad jokes. Apparently the movie was desperate for people to watch the movie that they did a lot of advertising for this movie, heck even a ad for the movie played during the previews while I was at the theater to watch Elio, and despite the fact that it had a lot more stuff than the original teaser I watched a few months back, it still wasn't convincing me to watch it. And since it just released last Friday, I have a good prediction this movie was bad and it is going to be a massive box office flop. It would've been saved if they tried much harder, but we instead got a cluttered mess that was aimed at 6 years of age and younger. I would recommend saving your money and avoiding this movie.

I do understand that this was made for the South American Good Neighbor policy, but it felt a little boring at some times.
I was a little excited to go into this movie because I believed this was going to be a fully animated movie where Disney characters were in South America, but I finished the movie with a little bit of disappointment because it was different.
The movie was basically a South American documentary except they put animated shorts that the Disney crew made so they could add a little entertainment during the movie, but I was totally bored out when the live action parts were playing. My favorite part was the Pedro animated short, it was entertaining, and I can say that for the other animated parts, but that's about it.
I understand Disney was in a financial slump after the failures of the previous movies, and the other movies following this up until Disney went back to full animated films with the release of 1950's Cinderella, but this could've been done better. 5/10, if you are interested in documentaries, I would recommended this, but if you seek for entertainment, you might wanna pass on this film.
