This film is truly hilarious. It discusses death from an unusual perspective, encouraging the audience to reflect on empathy, attention, and affection. It is funny and touching, and very well done.
The audience is invited to enter the mind of Gema, a young man who receives attention after his father's death. The visuals are able to portray the deepest inner space. The film feels honest in its storytelling and unique in its presentation.
The film is also incredibly funny. The comedy hits the mark, but every laugh also carries a complex bittersweetness. It suddenly makes me think, "Is that wrong?" The conflict is so relatable. "Tinggal Meninggal" brilliantly brings sadness into absurd comedy that tickles the funny bone.
The film has a strong and layered message. It gives an insight into how we can eventually understand what someone like Gema feels. It turns out that attention has an extraordinary impact, including in parent-child relationships.
The characters in the film also have depth and are portrayed skillfully. Shout out to Omara Esteghlal. The changes in emotion, expression, and gestures are depicted with such detail and feel genuine even within the same scene. Deserves an award.
The interaction between the characters is also enjoyable. Although most of the setting is in an office, the set design and the actors' performances are so well-done that it feels enjoyable. I really like the office crew. Besides the diverse characters, some of whom you might relate to, their dialogue flows naturally.
The visuals feel fresh, with bright colors and even some animation in the credit titles. The use of moths as a symbol that aligns with the story's theme and characters is spot-on. The details are thoughtfully considered.
Overall, the film is excellent. "Tinggal Meninggal" is a unique, fresh, and reflective work by Indonesian filmmakers. It deserves to be supported and celebrated together.

This is Yandy Laurens' best movie so far. This love story and fantasy about time travel & second chances is an extraordinary and proud achievement. Auto make speechless and dazed after watching it. Insane!
The movie, which is mostly set in Croatia, is a typical romance drama that actually has a simple and relatable story. But the process is so complex and amazing. There are surprises, I didn't think it would be like that.
While watching this movie, the sense of awe continued to increase and the feelings were increasingly mixed. From the initial warmth, filled with laughter, to the third act which is so mind blowing. Yandi Laurens packs it in a brilliant way.
It's not just the storytelling, "Sore: Istri Dari Masa Depan" also has beautiful visuals. Accompanied by music and songs that are so fused to the story. It really supports the mood and emotions of Sore and Jonathan.
This movie is also empowered by stunning acting from the cast. Sheila Dara plays the character of Sore who is elegant, gentle, unyielding, and assertive. When she speaks Croatian, it's really cool. I could also feel her struggle in facing Jo. Dion Wiyoko as Jonathan is no less cool. Their chemistry is just right. Let's not forget the supporting cast, they are also amazing. Including Karlo who kept me entertained.
Don't miss every scene and dialog in this movie. There are detailed parts presented from the first minutes that are important to draw the thread of the story. With a duration of two hours it feels satisfied, not boring at all.
This movie has love messages that really hit home and can be a self-reflection. A reminder of the importance of time, togetherness, acceptance, and change that must come from within. A very memorable viewing experience.

The sequel is even more exciting. Not only from the action that always fascinates, but also the test of faith that gives goosebumps when watching it. The acting is top-notch.
The action is quite intense but also interspersed with humor that provokes laughter. Ustadz Qodrat's search efforts are faced with quite heavy obstacles. The fight against evil forces is even more powerful. The terror that is presented is increasingly widespread. It emphasizes that the devil is relentless in misleading humans. There are scenes that make me wince. Appreciation for all the extras and new characters that appear in this sequel.
The romance made me smile to myself. Accompanied by "Akulah Lelakimu" from The Dance Company & Pongki Barata and the wind blowing, it momentarily eases the tension before the next threat hits.
My favorite part is in the last quarter. Assuala's threat becomes more real. Seeing her face close up on such a big screen made me want to close my eyes but I finally saw it. Appreciation also goes to the make-up team. The test of faith experienced by Ustadz Qodrat and Azizah really gave me goosebumps. It's like a reminder that only to God we worship, only to God we will return. This movie is also a reminder that as long as this breath blows, humans are still given the opportunity to repent.
In that part, Acha Septriasa's acting is really crazy. Every word she says to her character is heartfelt and meaningful. The effort to appreciate what she reads is really cool. Watching it was speechless.
