The only reason this movie is getting good reviews is because it's the same as the original. Why do we feel the need to make animated movies "live action"? This movie is mostly animated anyway and the live action parts of it are just slightly worse than the original.

Live action adaptations feel like a spit in the face to the beautiful medium that is animation. I wish that the film industry cared more about making good pieces of art instead of trying to get the most amount of money in the safest, laziest way possible.

I really hope that animation will become just as respected as live action is, but movies like these just put a bad taste in my mouth, and make me more and more pessimistic about the future.

It's only been out 1 week and I've already seen it twice. It's just as innovative in the animation sense as the first one. Everything they did in this movie they did beyond perfectly. The pacing, the humor, the animation, the action, the characters. And the emotional aspect of it is done so well, it's crazy. It feels so emotionally deep and realistic and combined with the beautiful art makes it pushed past perfection. Deserves to be in the run for best picture during the Oscars, and might as well be the best movie I've ever seen. Can't wait for the next one, because if they can top this one, they've made the best trilogy of all time.
