The English features an excellent performance from Emily Blunt, lovely vistas and cinematography and an incredibly uneven storyline told in a nearly incomprehensible manner. Add to that what seems like half each episode filmed in pitch darkness and it becomes almost unwatchable in places. The historical advisor was clearly some danger haired obese marxist with gender dysphoria. All the while the series treats us to comic book villainy. I love westerns, especially enjoy Emily Blunt and wanted to like this but it is even worse the second time around and the advertisements and inability to control fast forward or reverse make the experience nearly intolerable.
Appalling bad plot, ghastly awful writing, acting substantially worse than community theater and Arnold at his lowest and least effective period in his entire career. If this movie had been made 44 years earlier it would be competitive with other early '70's action jackson films, but alas, it is fairly contemporary. If you last more than 10 minutes with this one, it will be with grit teeth.
I'm not actually sure he died, but he must be pushing 80. Try as I might, and I tried mightily, I have not made it through this entire movie, even though I have been watching it for days on end. The movie could have been helped with the mentally ill Greta Thunberg as the main bad guy and sister Beata Thunberg as the window cleaner. Satan was very credible in the role of both oil and gas titans, pulling off a Robert DeNiro-like dual performance. I will just have to assume that the window cleaner manages to get back in the building and resolve this preposterously uninspired contretemps, but I just cannot make myself care.
