I can with some amazement say that there is not a single likable character in this one. Literally, not one. If I want to go so far as to pick one, I will pick Trish, who is not really one of the main characters to begin with. Everybody else, you just have to sit through it... especially the mother. You know it's bad when you want to just punch a character in the face every single time they just pop up on the screen. Yup, she is that kind of person. Kudos to the actress, I suppose. She did a terrific job portraying that.

The entire cast of male characters collectively combines all the worst character traits that most men display. No wonder society is in that sorry state that it is nowadays. They're either jerks, drinkers, violent and aggressive, or any combination of those adjectives. There is literally no one to even root for in this series. Some of them have absolutely no depth to them whatsoever. There is one character that you literally never learn anything about; the only reason he pops up in scenes is for the sake of popping up in some scenes, before it turns out he's the bad guy in the end.

I was surprised by the high average rating on here. Turns out this isn't always a trustworthy feature.

I truly would not recommend this to other people. It's.... boring. I have seen some amazing Scandi Noir series; unfortunately, this is not one of them.

First of all, if you think 5 episodes is pretty short (especially looking at each episode's individual duration), you will be disappointed to hear that this is actually 2 separate stories in one season. The first case spans three episodes, the other the last two. Don't expect interesting twists and turns or very intricate writing and story-telling. There simply is no time allotted for any of this to happen. This is straight-forward and with no excitement, so if that's what you're looking for, then by all means, do indulge.

With that said, the lead female simply falls flat. I don't know if the writers actually intended for the character to be like this, but there is literally no ounce of depth to her. Honestly, at the end of the last episode I felt like I knew even less about her then when she first enters the picture in episode 1. Not sure how that can be possible, but it certainly is the case here. There is simply nothing to her, period. Nothing to engage her to you, nothing to make her especially likable. If she simply didn't exist and the rest of the police team were solving the cases alone, the entire series would have felt exactly the same. I'm not sure why her character was necessary, to be honest.

If you're really desperate to just pass a few hours, then absolutely, watch it. But if you're looking to come out of the experience feeling like you saw something that was worth it, please keep searching. There are really good Scandinavian series out there. You've probably seen The Chestnut Man already, but if you haven't, THAT one will blow your mind.

I can sincerely say that this is one of THE best Korean shows I have ever seen; and I have seen a fair number of them at this point. You will not be disappointed, please give it a try, especially if you're already a fan of Korean shows.

The lead character is absolutely brilliant. I love the writing, I love the directing, I love the interactions and chemistry between the characters - especially the lead male and his former trainee/future chief. There are so many funny and heart-warming moments there just revolving around the time-warped relationship between the two.

Truly, there is only one or two scenes in the entire series that left me either frustrated or downright furious due to the stupidity in certain characters' decision-making. I won't go into detail to avoid spoilers.
