I play for one character only: Albedo. His lore is locked behind limited event dialogue, and that's the main complaint I have.
The combat system is easy to learn, but I only got the proper gist of most efficient rotations/teams/elemental reactions a couple of years in, as I'm generally a casual player. You can't really beat endgame battle content with the free characters they give you, and younger people are likely to gain a gambling addiction, which is given as a free feature but it is gambling, so spending real money is more "effective". I should know, spending the same amount of money you'd spend on Persona 5 at discount trying to get a character... only to not get them.
The women are pretty. The men are pretty. I swing both ways, and the Natlan (disagree with me all you want...) and the Fontaine quests are extremely compelling. Everything beforehand is kind of forgettable.
It's a roll and grind game. You have to grind.

I haven't watched it in a while, but I really liked it. And I went searching for it again recently, and...... yeah!! I found an IMDB page which is crazy cause this is a Scratch Animation.
Technically, it was an amateur production (it's on Scratch, LOL) but at the time I watched it, it was amazing. 10 minute long episodes made on SCRATCH of all places, and with actually quite good quality too, still amazes me. I remember waiting for every episode to come out. I know huntedskelly has since left Scratch, however, if he comes back and/or sees this review thank you very much for making something that was so important to me for a while ^^ It's also an inspiration for me, because I really enjoy animating and art too. So again, thank you huntedskelly.

You should watch this. Why? Because one of the characters is called SIGMA. And yet he is nothing close to a sigma male. But he's so sigma.
In all seriousness, this show isn't actually as good as everyone hypes it up to be. The story is too complex, most of the fandom. Complains about people "not understanding the plot" as well as they do (that's not the point, the point is to enjoy it). While I was one of them at one time, I used to claim the show "changed my life". No, it didn't. It kind of ruined it. If you want a life-changing anime, watch Mob Psycho 100.
I'm unfortunately afflicted with this thing called autism, so I'm still intensely hyperfixated on Dazai and cannot rate this below 7, no matter how much I want to rate it a 3.
The plot is captivating, yes, the first few episodes are boring, but it picks up momentum afterwards, like any show that's okay. That doesn't mean it's a masterpiece of art. It's giving the vibe of those 13 year olds who read Edgar Allan Poe to be deep, and those who harp on about how good the storytelling is are just that way. It's not all that. I've got an entire shrine dedicated to Bungou Stray Dogs and I can still say it's not all that. The fandom especially are disgusting. I've got half the manga in my collection and I still think it's not all that.
So why did I buy it? Because while watching the show, it gives the air that it is good. After finishing, you realise it sucks. That by itself is impressive enough, to capture an audience. Kafka Asagiri also isn't all that. I believe he's also problematic.
