Clasificación de Arkham8
Shadyside does not look even remotely trashy enough in this film, it looks totally fine. In their desire to pander to 80s nostalgia they removed the harsh edges of Shadyside. As much as I didn't like 1994 it at least did a good job making Shadyside look like a miserable place to live. While the original trilogy was a loving sendup of various genres, like the 90s meta commentary of Scream, the slow paced slashers of the later 70s and early 80s, and supernatural period pieces of the modern day, this film feels more like a rip off instead of homage. It feels cynical rather than loving. The editing and choreography is oddly poor as well. I do really enjoy the music though, I've got a thing for techno music. I just wish the acting, script, editing, choreography etc was as good as the music. Seriously why does everyone constantly swear in this movie? I understand students, but parents, teachers, really? Also this movie is addicted to telling rather than showing. It's not the worst thing I've ever seen, but I really hope this doesn't kill the franchise, as I am a fan of the Fear Street books. Ultimately this movie is lazy and boring, it's going through the motions. Theres also not nearly enough mention of the curse or Sarah Fier in this movie. Funkmaster Freddie is my favorite character though.
