A few different times I had to stop and verify I hadn't accidentally skipped ahead or skipped an episode because where the characters left off in a scene and where they started in a new one was so disjointed. It feels like a lot was cut to accommodate these short episode lengths, and that leaves too much missing information for the viewer. These episodes need to be a bit longer to bring each scene or episode to a close in a way that makes the opening sequence of the next one seamless.
I hope this is an issue that is resolved for the next season because this show has a top notch cast and is too good to be Game of Throned off the air with poor show running decisions. Let the actors act, bro. We don't need that extended end credit sequence.
Apart from that, I am loving this iteration of the story, and hope to see the other related series adapted as well, especially Magnus Chase.
Congrats, guys! You knocked it out of the park. <3.

This story is really the tale of two people connecting and reconciling who they were created to be with who they actually are. The most human of struggles. They must deconstruct their worldviews and realign their moral compasses with what is right and not with what is prescribed.
As a kid, I was always drawn to these big stories examining close quality relationships, and how each person relates to the world with that. Lord of the Rings, Sherlock Holmes, that kind of thing. This is that. With all the heart and glorious silliness of any Terry Pratchett story.
It's been over two decades since I've read the book, and I am elated to see this one breathed to life with such exacting love and care. The actors, writers, designers, and all have done a beautiful job. I'm so happy they were entrusted with the care of this project. After all this time, it's like seeing an old friend.
For me, this is just as exciting as the Lord of the Rings adaptations, and just as meaningful. If ever there was such a beautiful story of love and hope and courage, and why they matter in the face of adversity, to be told, this is it.
