Wow, the twists kept coming in this season finale - and each one was perfectly placed, opening up new plots to explore.
I have to admit, I loved every second of this series and it kept picking up pace nicely, right till the end.
Josh Holloway is perfect - cool, suave and deep down a good dude. Forget any of the complaints about him bring too old, when you've got it, you've got it! The supporting cast are all spot on too, from the cops to the bad guys.
Rachel Wilson's portrayal of vulnerability, bad ass and search for justice hits the balance just right in her role as Nina Hayes. Keith David's playing of crime boss Ezra Saxton is at times subtle, nuanced, sympathetic and utterly convincing.
Add to all this some killer tunes and hipster threads...
Simply put: Great cast, awesome soundtrack, cool plot twists, classy fashion, classic early 70s vibe.

The word disappointment probably appears in more reviews here than the words Joker or Harlequin. But this film was not a disappointment to me. Why not? I suspect mostly because I went to see it knowing full well it was a 'jukebox musical'.
Strangely enough, I watched the first Joker film on a whim, expecting a DC superhero (anti-hero) film. I left the cinema agape, blown away by the power of the film and the strength of the performances.
I went into this cinema this time having read the reviews and the seeming disbelief that the hard-hitting grit of the first film had been followed up with a musical.
I must say, though, that I left the cinema after watching the second Joker film equally impressed by the performances, and equally impressed by a film that once again breaks convention.
