The premise is good enough, but the story is poorly written. The dialog is atrocious, childish at times, which is weird considering the random fan service (not that it's very prevalent). I could honestly nitpick pretty hard on the writing but the half assed animation needs to be addressed. Some of it looks straight out of a 80s action cartoon. Its so out of place that its jarring when it happens. Then there's the voice acting. Clevatess is the only one to do a decent job. Everyone else phoned it in and put on their worst voice imaginable. I wish I could have the life back that this show took from me.
This could have been great. It had the material, the acting, the cinematography, but it didn't take its time or use it's time wisely.
It starts with Ayrton's final race, and then rushes through so much in order to get back to that point in his life. It glosses over or completely neglects key aspects of his life or the season that would have made for exceptional television. It could have been a true story of his life, but became a story of just his death.
Other than that, most everything was fantastic. The racing sequences, while not perfect, were nearing those of Rush or Ford vs. Ferrari. The acting was, for the most part, well done (for those it needed to be at least).

It's flashy, it's stylish, and it's full of cliché, cringe inducing dialog and writing, and completely fabricated nonsense. The writers have never watched a race or even bothered researching the topic before throwing this thing together. And their character tropes and archs were exhausted decades ago on children's cartoons. I think the "bad guy" (why does there have to be a bad guy in a racing movie?) literally belongs on a Captain Planet episode.
The acting is subpar at best. Stranger Things guy was alright, as was Jann's actor, but Orlando Bloom was just...weird in this, and the actors for the "bad guy" (he's bad because...he's bad, ok?) and all the other drivers were just atrocious.
And the best part. If you have any knowledge of motorsport or the laws of physics you may consider this a really bad comedy. Suddenly this guy who's never driven a car knows a better line than people who do this for a living AND spend time on simulators? Oh and his line is the outside of a dry track.
Ugh I could go on, but I'm tired. So here's 4 stars for making a pretty movie.
