Again Pixar delights our eyes with an amaizing world , beautiful 3d animations in a well produced movie that deliver de escencials.
Elio as a character is very likeable, his personality is childish yet simple and has a very cute design that does represent all he is about.
Then what is the problem with this movie? , in short , the script. The writing is overwhelmingly poor , the "villian" has a very weak motivation, they barely show what he is capable off, and the worst part is that the solution to this problem is just to travel with someone... and that's the movie... the solution lacked so much imagination that you could tell the writers didn't know how to fill the lack of problems and they deliverately invented a few ways to portrait some conflict on the trip.
They literally had the whole universe in their hands to create a better story, but while the presentation of this universe shined brigthly the main conflict that should have ignited our desire to watch more ends up turning it off instantly
At the end the message of the movie is clear, and doesn't fail to warm your heart once the problem is solved. Unforunatelly the lackluster writing turned what should have been another pixar gem into a completely forgettable movie.

I don't think i've ever given 10/10 to an episode, i'm not 13 i don't overrate every single thing i see, but there is just not any weak pont in this chapter, this is how every single finale should be.
Perfect music and sound effects used on a perfect animation in perfect moments shows us a perfect direction on both scenes and animations, a Kagenashi used in the best moment, after already a great use of the camera. Endless tension expectation and hype ongoing for 10 mins straight. This is how a 10/10 should be rated, only when you watch something where there is really no low points.
All the well used environment, the crowd, the feelings portrayed of japan/the world watching the same match we witnessed on the very same moment they were shown i was already part of that crowd.

The underworld is fun, Beetlejuice is fun, the movie is not.
I have never seen such a clear evidence of a writer having no idea what to do, they tought of plots for every character, and instead of developing one of them well, they kept them all and made every single wing of the story uninteresting.
And when the main... antagonist?, at least the plot that started at the beggining of the movie seemed to give use something good they gave us a goofy short abrupt bad ending, ruining the only chance to have at least one plot develop well.
The movie is a fast pased, full of short cartoonish scenes portrayed in the weird fun way we are used from Tim, and all the mini-plots are so simple i'm sure it will be easy for kids to follow.
Now for a Beetlejuice movie i expected who knows... a little more about Beetlejuice?, but he is just another character that while fun to watch you barely even feel in the movie, except for the very last climax scene, he isn't much of a main character in this movie.
No main protagonist, no main antagonist, no main plotline, you can really tell the autor had no idea of what to do, just made something comic, took common plots, common jokes, a clear big "inspiration" on the mask, and put them all together.
A movie that tried everything and accomplished nothing.
Goofy plain fun yet uninteresting, perfect kids movie for halloween.
