It's not a natural state for human beings to view the world in constant shaking, zooming in and odd angles - this felt like I was watching the world from a boat on waves. It really lets everything else down, and what could have been a great horror, becomes a motion sickness misadventure.
The atmosphere is great, leading actors are of course a stellar choice and the plot is (although been done a thousand times), solid. If you can get past whatever on earth the director was thinking giving the cameraman orders to 'shake like you're filming this on drugs' - it's not too bad. Last sentence: IMBD can you stop this ridiculous minimum character count.

I loved the first Gladiator, as did we all - so the bar was high - I would say generally what sets the two apart is character development - a lot of reviewers felt it was rushed, and it was, I suspect had they added maybe twenty additional minutes to build some connection to the characters, it would have been a lot deeper and more meaningful. On the plus side, the action scenes are great, the actors did to a great job with the material they had - biggest shoutout to Pedro Pascal who was immediately able to build the connection to his character we were missing for the rest. All in all, worth watching; but lower your expectations slightly.
I don't know if there exist a group of trolls that absolutely have a problem with Nicole Kidman and the fact that she has Botox, but it seems an absolute obsession for one too many people reviewing this show. For balance, if you're thinking about watching this, it's great - true, it's a bit slow, but by episode three, you really feel the sickening tension of a child being missing - Nicole does a beautiful job - regardless of whether she chooses to have Botox or not (Christ people, a series is a huge production and one person not being able to raise their eyebrows does not a series make). Cast is great, atmosphere is well done - give it a chance and power through to despise three - it gets better.
