I don't understand the hate for Gypsy. When you look at the shear FACTS surrounding this case, there is absolutely NO denying that Gypsy Rose has been a victim wrongfully imprisoned her ENTIRE LIFE. Nobody who grew up with even semi loving parents has a right to judge Gypsy or claim that they would have done ANYTHING differently because none of us have any way to know. Gypsy could very well be dead today if she hadn't done what she did and she should have never been in PRISON for it. She should have been given extensive psychological help and counseling at an in patient facility at WORST. But it is what it is. After being wrongfully imprisoned by her evil mother her entire life (an indisputable FACT) she then was and still is being failed by a very flawed system that COULD give her her very first taste of freedom she's ever had in this life but has chosen to continue to imprison her. Thank God for parole I suppose. Gypsy did a horrible thing. I know it, you know it and SHE KNOWS IT. I think if we were honest with ourselves many of us could truthfully proclaim we'd have done that same thing only much sooner in our lives in the same position. For the first time in her life she is getting to experience the love of others and at least a SENSE of freedom. Money will never erase the scars of the trauma she has endured but at least it can grant her freedom from the burden of financial hardship many of us may face but will NEVER have to know the trauma she knows. Maybe that's all the hate boils down to... Jealousy. Entitled people cannot stand seeing her win when they themselves feel like losers. Gypsy deserves every good thing that comes to her and we should ALL be cheering for her from the sideline showing her the good of humanity when all she has known from a baby is the most evil side from the one person who should have loved and protected her the MOST, her mother. She did not HAVE to do this documentary but she did. For those of us whose hearts break for everything she has been through we get to see her win. SHE LET US IN. Those who hate on her and scream "justice for Dee....." are clearly bitter and jealous and filled with self hatred. We ought to pray for them. What a miserable life. Thank you Gypsy Rose for letting us in!!! God bless you!
I don't think I've EVER left a review for ANYTHING but HAD to figure it out for this one. Honestly, I was so captivated by season 7 of Black Mirror that by the time I got to this episode, the season 7 finale, my thought was "this season has been SO good, every single episode captivating from start to finish, there's absolutely NO WAY this finale could even compare let alone be best episode yet, climactic finale material"......... Then I watched it. I've never been a big Sci-fi fan at all but the USS Callister episodes of Black Mirror just might be my absolute favorite episodes of television PERIOD of EVERYTHING I've ever watched. The story telling is phenomenal, the acting is unlike anything you've come to expect from a television series. The production is fantastic. This was a GREAT finale, a GREAT season altogether and overall just a GREAT and original series. I cannot wait for the next season and can only HOPE to see the story of USS CALLISTER continue!!!
