I just watched Mister Sleep and have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I read the reviews prior to watching and they were on both ends of the spectrum. I have seen a lot worse in horror movies, and this is not one of them. The storyline was consistent, there were no loose ends, and the acting was believable. It wasn't the worst movie I've seen of the genre nor the best, but it was surprisingly not bad.
I would give this movie a solid 6 1/2 out of 10. I like the character of Mister Sleep. It was something new and different instead of people trying to revamp stuff that's already been done. There was also a continuity in the story which I liked. I felt it was pretty entertaining.

This was by far one of the worst acted movies I've ever watched. Although the premise of the movie was a good one, it was executed badly. The character of Bosley played by Steve Stanulis had to have said the f bomb100 times. Not only that, but his acting was absolutely horrendous and forced. There was nothing natural about his acting abilities. The serial killer, Brendan Sexton lll wasn't much better. He was completely unbelievable as a serial killer and his portrayal of someone mentally unstable was completely off the mark. Following a close third in bad acting is Dominique Swain.
Considering the fact that these three held the movie and the degree of horrible acting, made this a laughable movie to watch.
I think that if there were competent actors in the movie, it would have been worth watching. As it stands, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Although the concept of this movie is a good one, the end product was lacking. The maniacal laughter of Gacy was not unsettling, but annoying. I like the idea of a teenager sussing out a killer and trying to convince his family and friends what's going on across the street having no one believe him. That aspect was spot on. The acting of the teenager was believable and natural, but the Gacy character really got on my left nerve. He was not quietly sinister like the real Gacy, he was more in your face and comical. I don't feel like I wasted my time watching this movie, but I do believe I could've spent the time a lot better watching something else.
