I am 70 years old and my wife is right there with me. My childhood was filled with movies that entertained, made you sad, made you happy, and sometimes really made you think. Seems like lately, movies have dropped the "entertaining" part in order to lecture you on a variety of social issues. It's still possible to find movies that do what movies were supposed to do but they are rarely from the major studios (Unsung Hero, Arthur the King, The Shift).
However, what a delight THIS movie is.... It makes you run the gamut of emotions from sadness to anticipation to thinking you know what's going to happen to having your heart warmed :)
We absolutely loved this movie and will probably see it again before it leaves the theater.
On a side note, I continue to be amazed by these young actors who can display such a wide range of emotions. Much like Alisha Weir in Abigail, Cailey Fleming absolutely nailed the role.
If you want a family friendly movie to take your kids to, this one is it!

It was difficult to be too surprised about the plot as this movie went along. The various trailers gave away far too much of the plot before you actually got to see the movie :(
I thought it was an interesting take on the vampire genre. Alisha Weir did a fabulous job portraying both the "sweet little girl" as well as the ravening blood sucking monster.... LOL
The other cast members portrayed similar typecasts of similar movies. You kinda knew who would be the first to go along with the last one to go. The difficulty was in trying to determine the order of the other members demise.
A great horror film? No
A great comedy? No
But it has enough bumps and jumps to be entertaining and I did enjoy it. I'd even be willing to see it again!

The movie was pretty action packed.... along with some plot mishaps and "deus ex machina" moments. CGI effects were top notch although I felt that some of the actual human acting was poorly done at best.
Some of the actions of both Godzilla and the humans on the surface contradicted their actions over the past two movies. It just seem contrived and out of place.
The movie was okay just about 30 minutes too long. I doubt that I would watch it again, either at the theater or at home. I think the problem was at times it bored me with the disjointed plot and the titan fights that occurred off screen.
